Essential Function
- Conduct regular maintenance, inspections of electrical systems, automation systems and components on board vessels.
- Attend to vessels to perform on-site repairs, troubleshooting of electrical issues.
- To perform installation of electrical switches, sensors, transducers, transmitters, current transformers, alternator components, control panels, components, etc.
- To perform installation of engine wirings, electrical system as accordance with the drawings provided.
- To perform safety devices test and load test including the recording of the required parameter readings.
- To perform troubleshooting on engines and generators when problems arise.
- To provide, maintain service reports for all work done on board vessels.
- Assist to guide onboard engineers to operate and maintain electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/automation systems efficiently.
- To carry out repair, servicing, maintenance of equipment in workshop.
- Work with other departments to ensure spare parts are available for installations in time.
- Provide technical support and advice to vessel crew and other departments as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, standards while performing electrical works.
- Perform routine housekeeping of spares, tools and worksite.
- Any other adhoc duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirement
- ITE/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ working experience on board vessels or experience in related area
- Experience in marine engine control systems, automation, troubleshooting, or electrical maintenance is preferred
- Able to attend vessels and working on tight schedule
- Good Interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and is a team player
