The posting

This will be a 1-year renewable position based in Changi Business Park

Responsibilities

  • Sample preparation, cross-sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing of PCB and semiconductor package samples.
  • Optical microscopy inspections and SEM analysis to support failure analysis and material characterization.
  • Evaluate layer thickness, plating quality, via structures, solder joints, and material interfaces by analyzing cross-sectional images.
  • Operate laboratory equipment (cross-section preparation tools, optical microscopes, and SEM systems).
  • Documentation of inspection results
  • Generating technical reports
  • Communicate findings to engineers and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in sample preparation, mounting, grinding, polishing, and cross-sectioning.
  • Experienced in operating optical microscopy and SEM equipment.
  • Experienced in using image analysis, metrology, and reporting software.
  • Able to identify and document defects such as voids, cracks, contamination, and delamination-related issues.
  • Exposed to semiconductor packaging and PCB manufacturing process.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and technical documentation skills.
  • Thrive in working independently and capable of collaborating effectively with engineering teams
