About the Company
I am currently partnering with an established technology and engineering firm specializing in advanced hardware and embedded control systems.
Here are the key responsibilities for the role:
- Firmware Development: Design, test, and maintain robust embedded software and firmware in C for STM32-based microcontroller systems.
- Tooling & Automation: Build custom testing utilities and automation scripts utilizing Python and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to streamline engineering workflows.
- Hardware Integration: Program and interface software with hardware peripherals, ensuring seamless data exchange via UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN protocols.
- System Debugging: Investigate and resolve complex system defects bridging firmware logic, hardware components, and overall system operations.
- Lifecycle Support: Partner across engineering disciplines to drive system integration, validation testing, and technical documentation.
- Field Escalations: Collaborate with field service units to diagnose, address, and accurately document technical issues occurring in live environments.
What my client is looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in C programming specifically targeted at embedded software and firmware engineering.
- Proficiency languages like C++ / Java welcomed to apply too.
- Hands-on experience using Python and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts for building utilities, automating tests, or system scripting.
- Proven background working with STM32 microcontrollers, debugging tools, and standard hardware-software integration.
- Practical knowledge of serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and version control platforms like Git.
- Collaborative problem-solver with strong communication skills to function effectively within cross-functional hardware and software teams.
