About the Role

We are looking for a driven and resourceful Event Sales Manager to grow our catering and events portfolio and lead our sales team. You will lead business development efforts, build strong client relationships and manage each opportunity from the first enquiry through to successful event delivery.

The successful candidate must have prior experience leading a sales team and be able to guide, coach and motivate the team to achieve sales targets. This role is ideal for someone commercially minded, confident with clients and comfortable working in a fast-paced events environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and coach the sales team, set clear targets, monitor performance and support team members in securing bookings and growing accounts.
  • Build a strong client base through networking, referrals, tenders, online research, social media and industry partnerships.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities across corporate accounts, government agencies, institutions, venues and event partners.
  • Plan and participate in relevant F&B trade shows, exhibitions and networking events to generate leads, establish partnerships and create new revenue streams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to develop new catering packages, sales channels and business opportunities.
  • Develop business development plans and provide regular sales updates, pipeline reports and revenue forecasts to management.
  • Achieve assigned individual and team sales, revenue, account growth and business development targets.
  • Build strategic partnerships with event planners, venues, suppliers and industry contacts to generate referrals and recurring business.
  • Attend site visits, tender briefings and pre-event meetings to understand clients’ requirements, budgets, guest profiles and service expectations.
  • Prepare clear and accurate quotations, proposals and tender submissions, and follow up actively to secure bookings.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business, referrals and account growth.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients before, during and after each event.
  • Gather client feedback and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle client requests, changes and complaints calmly, promptly and professionally.
  • Attend and oversee major or high-profile events to ensure smooth execution.
  • Assist in training and guiding service and operations teams when required.
  • Perform other duties related to catering sales, business development and event operations.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and managing a sales team, including setting targets, coaching team members and driving sales performance.
  • Relevant experience in catering, events, hospitality, F&B or food production is an advantage.
  • Strong sales, communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially driven, with the ability to identify opportunities and close sales.
  • Quick-thinking, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Adaptable, hardworking and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Willing to work on weekends and public holidays when required for events.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
