- Execute the review, monitoring, and continual enhancement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in close collaboration with internal & external stakeholders, ensuring robust controls are in place to safeguard food safety, protect public health, and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Plan and conduct comprehensive food safety and hygiene audits across food courts, coffeeshops, hawker centers, cafes and restaurants, to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and best practices, and to proactively identify & mitigate food safety risks.
- Manage food sampling and environmental monitoring programmes to verify microbiological compliance, detect potential contamination hazards at an early stage, and strengthen the effectiveness of sanitation, hygiene, and process controls essential to safe retail operations.
- Conduct thorough investigation of customer feedback, complaints, and food safety incidents, providing timely technical assessment, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive recommendations to resolve issues effectively, prevent recurrence, and protect company’s reputation as a trusted brand.
- Develop, schedule, coordinate, and deliver food safety training plans for retail staff to ensure operational personnel are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and discipline required to uphold critical food safety and hygiene standards in daily operations.
- Monitor, evaluate, and strengthen food safety workflows, policies, and control measures as part of the continual improvement process, ensuring that systems remain resilient, audit-ready, and responsive to evolving operational, microbiological, and regulatory risks.
- Support Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) compliance efforts by conducting basic WSH audits of retail outlets, reinforcing a strong culture of safety, compliance, and operational accountability across the organisation.
- Undertake ad hoc duties, cross-functional projects, and assignments that contribute to strengthening food safety assurance, regulatory preparedness, risk management, and the organisation’s overall commitment to safe and sustainable retail operations.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Process Technology, Biotechnology or related disciplines with 1 - 2 years relevant work experience.
- Diploma holders in similar specialty, with a minimum of 3 – 4 years relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 or any Food Safety Management System will be advantageous.
- Good interpersonal skills with the attributes of a team player and a keen eye for details.
