Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, start-up and commissioning of front-end automated semiconductor equipment in a wafer fabrication environment.
- Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, repairs and equipment modifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
- Identify and implement improvements to equipment performance, reliability and uptime.
- Coordinate spare parts, tools and logistics required for installation, maintenance and repair activities.
- Provide on-site technical support and train customers’ engineers and technicians on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Maintain service reports and maintenance records, and escalate unresolved technical issues to the relevant technical teams.
- Maintain good working relationships with customers and internal teams, and represent the company professionally at customer sites.
- Follow customer site safety procedures, cleanroom protocols and safe equipment handling practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Preferably with at least 2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment installation, maintenance or servicing. Fresh graduates and candidates without semiconductor industry experience are welcome to apply; training will be provided.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Knowledge of or exposure to semiconductor manufacturing equipment is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and internal teams.
Work Environment and Operational Requirements
- Able to work in a cleanroom environment in accordance with customer site safety and operational requirements.
- The role involves lifting and handling equipment parts and tools in accordance with safe handling procedures.
- Willing to travel between customer sites as required.
- Willing to travel overseas, including South Asia, for customer support and technical training when required.
- Willing to provide standby support and work overtime, weekends or public holidays when required to meet customer operational needs.
- Shift work may be required depending on customer site operational requirements.
