The posting
ABOUT THE ROLE
Evolution Data Centres is a developer and operator of hyperscale data centres across Asia Pacific. Our Singapore-based finance team supports entities across the region as the business scales.
We are looking for a Finance Intern to join the team for three months. This is a hands-on role supporting three areas of work: our Oracle ERP implementation, day-to-day accounts payable and expense processing, and the statutory audits of our Philippines and Thailand entities. You will work alongside the regional team and get exposure to a live system migration, a multi-entity payables cycle and an external audit process —all within one internship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Oracle ERP implementation support (project)
• Support the migration of finance data into Oracle — extracting, cleansing and formatting master and transactional data from the current system into the required upload templates.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation checks between source data and migrated data (e.g. vendor master, chart of accounts, open payables, historical balances), and document any differences found.
• Log, track and follow up on data issues and exceptions with the finance team and the implementation partner until they are cleared.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) —running test scenarios, recording results and flagging errors.
• Help maintain project trackers, checklists and simple process documentation for the new system.
2. Business-as-usual payments and accounts payable
• Process employee expense claims — checking receipts and supporting documents against policy, journal entry into accounting system.
• Enter and update supplier invoices in the accounting system, ensuring correct entity, cost centre, GL coding and payment terms.
• Respond to routine vendor queries on invoice and payment status, and escalate anything non-standard to the finance team.
• Support the preparation of payment runs, including matching invoices to purchase orders and approvals, and assembling payment documentation.
• Maintain and update vendor records and supporting files; assist with accounts payable ageing and reconciliation of supplier statements.
• General finance data entry and filing, keeping both physical and digital records complete and audit-ready.
3. Audit support — Philippines and Thailand entities
• Compile and send documents requested by the external auditors (invoices, contracts, bank statements, schedules and other supporting records), working from the audit request list.
• Maintain the audit request tracker — recording what has been requested, provided and remains outstanding, and chasing internal owners for missing items.
• Liaise directly with auditors on straightforward queries and clarifications, escalating technical or judgemental matters to the Finance Controller.
• Assist in preparing simple audit schedules and supporting reconciliations.
• Help keep the audit documentation folders organised and version-controlled.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential
• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a diploma or degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Available for a continuous three-month period starting ASAP.
• Strong Excel skills — comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, filtering and working with large data sets.
• Careful and accurate, with a genuine eye for detail — much of this role is checking that one set of numbers agrees to another.
• Organised and able to keep track of many open items at once, and to follow up without being reminded.
• Clear written English, and comfortable corresponding professionally with vendors and auditors.
• Able to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
Nice to have
• Previous internship or part-time exposure to accounts payable, bookkeeping or audit.
• Familiarity with an ERP or accounting system(Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Xero or similar).
• Interest in data, systems and process improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
• Practical experience of a live ERP implementation — rarely available at internship level.
• End-to-end exposure to a regional accounts payable cycle across multiple entities and currencies.
• First-hand experience of the statutory audit process and direct interaction with external auditors.
• Mentoring from qualified finance professionals in a fast-growing data centre platform.
