📢 Food Lab Assistant

  • 💰 Salary: $2,400/month
  • 📅 Contract Duration: 12 months, subject to a further 12-month extension
  • 🗓️ Contract Period: January 2027 – December 2027 Service required until November 2027; contract ends in December 2027.

⏰ Working Hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:00am–4:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30am–5:30pm
  • Includes a 30-minute lunch break
  • No service on weekends or gazetted public holidays, except for special school events.
  • Occasional extended hours until 6:30pm may be required, with advance notice where possible.

🎓 Job Requirements

  • Minimum GCE N-Level or equivalent.
  • Valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a secondary school Nutrition and Food Science laboratory.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and email correspondence.
  • Organised, meticulous and familiar with food safety and hygiene practices.

📋 Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, utensils and equipment for practical lessons and assessments.
  • Assist teachers during practical sessions and reset workstations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food laboratories and storage areas.
  • Assist with purchasing, stocktaking and inventory management.
  • Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and proper food storage.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks and report defects or hazards.
  • Maintain records and support departmental activities as assigned.
