Position Overview:
The FP&A Manager is a newly established role, reporting directly to our Head of P&M (SGP). The position combines management accounting — cost allocation, inter-company billing, and cost center accounting — with broader FP&A/reporting responsibilities and participation in strategic, governance, and cross-entity initiatives led by head of P&M (SGP). This role is designed for an experienced finance professional who can operate independently across structured reporting cycles, hands-on cost accounting work, and ad-hoc, high-visibility analytical work spanning different entities.
The role is intended to grow with the individual: the initial mandate centers on FP&A fundamentals, with scope for expansion into strategy office liaison, governance documentation, and business development support as capability and trust are established.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Mandate — Management Accounting
• Own project cost allocation methodology — direct and indirect/overhead costs —across projects and cost centers, ensuring allocation bases are consistent, defensible, and properly documented.
• Manage intercompany cost recharge and billing between entities, and other Hanwha Ocean entities, ensuring accurate invoicing, supporting documentation, and timely settlement.
• Maintain the cost center structure and lead the monthly management accounting close, ensuring costs are correctly captured, allocated, and reconciled to financial accounting.
• Review and refine cost allocation and recharge policies over time, in line with intercompany agreements and transfer pricing principles.
Core Mandate — FP&A & Reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across company, in coordination with shipyard Finance where relevant.
• Prepare and consolidate the Monthly Business Report (MBR), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear narrative for Senior management and HAS Strategy Office.
• Track and report on KPI performance against the company's key initiatives (e.g. OCF, project profitability, cost competitiveness), maintaining a single source of truth for management review.
• Develop and maintain financial models supporting business planning, scenario analysis, and project economics.
• Support cash flow monitoring and treasury-related reporting, including surplus cash and working capital matters.
Extended Scope — Strategic &Cross-Entity Support
• Assist Head of P&M (SGP) in preparing materials for Strategy sessions, board reporting, and senior management briefings.
• Support governance documentation efforts, including approval matrix and policy manual updates, as required.
• Contribute to business development and project evaluation work, including cost/profitability analysis for bid decisions.
• Take ownership of designated special projects as assigned by P&M, spanning finance, corporate strategy, and cross-functional coordination between company and shipyard entity, and Korea HQ.
Stakeholder Management
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related matters between company and shipyard entity, and support coordination with HQ Group Treasury/Finance as needed.
• Liaise with external parties (banks, advisors, auditors) on specific finance initiatives as delegated by P&M.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Approximately 10 years & above of relevant experience in Finance, FP&A, or management accounting, ideally with exposure to project-based industries (shipbuilding, offshore, EPC, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting cycles.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Excel; comfort working with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
• Proven experience operating across multiple stakeholders and entities, with the judgment to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; ability to produce clear, senior-management-ready materials. Korean language proficiency is a must, given regular coordination with HQ Strategy Office and Korea-based stakeholders.
• Willingness to relocate to Singapore.
• Prior experience in a comparable shipbuilding/offshore/EPC organization.
• Exposure to corporate strategy, governance, or business development functions in addition to core finance.
• Experience working in a matrixed reporting structure across HQ and overseas subsidiaries.
