Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager (Business Management) to lead and drive business operations within our construction company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, strategic planning, financial oversight, and operational excellence within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall business operations including commercial, finance, HR and administrative functions of the company.
  • Formulate and implement strategic business plans aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including client acquisition, tender management and contract negotiations.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities in the construction sector.
  • Ensure operational efficiency through effective resource allocation, policy implementation and risk management.
  • Strengthen internal control systems and ensure compliance with corporate governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and technical leads to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Build and lead a high-performance management team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, clients, authorities and senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, Engineering or related field. MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or general management role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of construction business operations.
  • Proven track record in business development, project profitability, and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in tendering, contracts, and managing government or private sector projects.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, statutory requirements and industry best practices.
