Lead the Operations Behind an Outstanding School Experience
Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Operations & Facilities to lead the delivery of operational excellence across our award-winning international school campus. This is a unique leadership opportunity for a hospitality, facilities, estates, or operations professional from a service environment with highly developed interpersonal skills, who is passionate about creating safe, efficient and exceptional environments. You will deliver excellence through third party providers that enable teaching, learning and community life to thrive. Based on our world-class campus in Singapore, you will oversee facilities management, health and safety, major projects, contractor performance, transportation services and campus development.
Reporting to the Director of Business Administration & Bursar, you will be an outstanding communicator and relationship builder that will play a key leadership role in ensuring our campus facilities, infrastructure and operational services meet the highest standards of safety, quality, sustainability and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational management of the College campus, ensuring facilities and services are safe, efficient and fit for purpose.
- Drive excellent service through facilities management contracts including maintenance, cleaning, security, landscaping, catering, transportation and other outsourced services.
- Manage contractor performance through robust KPI monitoring, contract reviews, renewals and tender processes.
- Lead campus improvement projects, refurbishments and capital works programmes.
- Drive delivery of the College's long-term campus development and master planning initiatives.
- Manage departmental budgets, expenditure forecasting and financial performance.
- Act as Health & Safety Coordinator, leading compliance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead regular emergency preparedness activities including fire drills, lockdown exercises and safety planning.
- Support the College's safeguarding strategy as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for premises and campus safety.
- Lead, develop and manage a team of operational and facilities professionals.
About You
You will be a highly organised and collaborative leader with a proven track record of managing complex facilities, operational services and external contractors.
Requirements
- Experience within an international school, education environment, healthcare, hospitality, members' club or similarly service driven organisation.
- Health & Safety, Engineering or Facilities Management certifications.
- Fire Safety Manager qualification or willingness to undertake training.
- Degree or relevant professional qualification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Engineering, Operations or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years’ experience in facilities, estates or a service led environment
- Experience managing large outsourced service contracts and vendor relationships.
- Strong budget management and financial planning experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving high performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety management and regulatory compliance.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
