HVAC Design Engineer – E-House / Offshore Projects

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of HVAC systems for E-Houses, offshore modules and major energy projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for HVAC calculations, equipment selection, system design and technical documentation, while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout design, fabrication and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC system design and engineering for E-Houses, electrical rooms, offshore modules and packaged buildings.
  • Perform heat load and cooling load calculations, airflow calculations, duct sizing and pressure-drop calculations.
  • Prepare and review HVAC layouts, ducting layouts, piping layouts, schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Select and size HVAC equipment including ACCU, AHU, FCU, ventilation fans, dampers and associated equipment.
  • Design HVAC and ventilation systems for switchgear rooms, electrical rooms, UPS rooms, battery rooms, control rooms and equipment rooms.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, equipment datasheets, technical specifications, calculations and design documentation.
  • Develop HVAC control philosophies and coordinate control/interface requirements with other engineering disciplines.
  • Review vendor quotations, drawings, technical submissions and equipment documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, Instrumentation and Project Engineering teams.
  • Ensure HVAC systems meet project requirements for temperature, ventilation, pressurisation and equipment heat dissipation.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Participate in design reviews, FAT activities and resolution of technical queries.
  • Support engineering changes and modifications throughout project execution.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, engineering standards and international codes.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant hands-on experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  • Experience with E-House, offshore, marine, FPSO, oil & gas or modular engineering projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of heat-load calculations, airflow calculations, duct sizing, pressure-drop calculations and HVAC equipment selection.
  • Experience designing HVAC systems for electrical, switchgear, UPS or battery rooms would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ACCU, AHU, FCU, ventilation systems, ductwork and HVAC controls.
  • Able to prepare and interpret P&IDs, HVAC layouts, schematics, datasheets and technical specifications.
  • Experience coordinating with equipment vendors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage engineering deliverables according to project schedules.
