The posting
We are seeking an IT Business Partner to be the primary technology engagement point for Digital Systems & Cyber (DSC). The role will build strong relationships with business stakeholders, understand operational priorities and translate business needs into practical technology initiatives. The successful candidate will also act as the business conduit to the SAP Centre of Excellence (COE) and help identify and deliver suitable AI-enabled improvements.
This is an ITBP-first role. It requires broad business and technology acumen, credible stakeholder management, sufficient SAP functional and process knowledge to frame requirements and coordinate effectively with SAP COE, and practical AI experience to shape use cases, support adoption and improve productivity. Deep SAP configuration or development expertise is not required; complex functional and technical matters will be handled by the relevant COE and delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
A. IT Business Partnership & Demand Management
- Serve as the primary technology relationship and engagement point for assigned DSC business stakeholders.
- Develop a strong understanding of business strategies, operations, pain points and priorities, and translate them into clear technology needs and outcomes.
- Shape, prioritise and track the business technology demand pipeline, balancing value, urgency, risk, cost, delivery capacity and enterprise standards.
- Coordinate with architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, data, procurement and external partners to progress initiatives and resolve cross-functional issues.
- Support business cases, requirements, solution options, project governance, change management, adoption and benefits tracking.
- Provide clear stakeholder communications, manage expectations and escalate risks, dependencies and decisions through the appropriate governance channels.
B. SAP Business–COE Partnership for Project Harmony Delivery
Act as the main conduit between DSC business stakeholders and the SAP COE, ensuring business requirements, priorities and impacts are clearly understood by both parties.
Apply working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Fiori and relevant end-to-end business processes to clarify needs, challenge assumptions and direct matters to the appropriate SAP specialists.
Coordinate requirements, impact assessments, testing, access readiness, cutover, go-live, hypercare, incidents and enhancement requests with business users and SAP COE.
Monitor SAP-related actions, service issues, dependencies and business decisions through closure, escalating when specialist functional or technical intervention is required.
Promote standardisation, sound controls, appropriate data and access governance, and alignment with SAP Clean Core and enterprise architecture principles.
C. AI Enablement & Digital Improvement
Identify and assess practical AI, automation and low-code opportunities that address business pain points and improve productivity, service quality or decision-making.
Translate business problems into well-defined AI use cases, success measures and delivery requirements, working with platform owners, technical teams and governance functions.
Prototype or support delivery using approved enterprise capabilities such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, GitHub Copilot, OutSystems, Dataiku, Google Gemini/Vertex AI or equivalent tools.
Drive responsible adoption through stakeholder engagement, user education, process redesign, documentation, governance and measurable value tracking.
Maintain awareness of AI capabilities, limitations, data risks, security requirements and emerging practices relevant to enterprise use.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Business IT, Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT business partnering, business analysis, digital transformation, application delivery, consulting or a comparable stakeholder-facing technology role.
- Demonstrated ability to engage business leaders, understand operational needs, shape requirements and coordinate delivery across multiple technology teams.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and common enterprise processes, sufficient to communicate effectively with business users and SAP functional and technical specialists.
- Practical knowledge and experience with enterprise AI, generative AI, automation or low-code platforms, including the ability to identify, assess and support implementation of viable use cases.
- Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
