Job Summary

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java web applications and backend services. Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions throughout the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications using Java, object-oriented programming (OOP), and Java-based frameworks to meet business requirements.
  • Develop RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices to enable application integration and support backend business logic.
  • Implement application components using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot to ensure robust and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and solution architects throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Participate in pair programming, peer code reviews, design reviews, and unit testing to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Perform application debugging, defect resolution, integration testing, and performance optimization to deliver reliable software.
  • Deploy application releases to development, testing, and production environments, providing post-deployment support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Apply secure coding practices, exception handling, logging, and scalable application design principles to enhance software security and performance.
  • Maintain technical documentation, source code, and deployment procedures in accordance with software engineering standards to support knowledge sharing and compliance.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java, Core Java, OOP, Collections Framework, and exception handling.
  • Experience developing microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and backend application components.
  • Practical knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, API integration, and JSON/XML data formats.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices, application scalability, performance optimization, and error handling.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and version control tools such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC processes, code reviews, and software deployment practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6years of relevant experience in Java application development.
