We're looking for a

Lead Solution Architect

to play a pivotal, customer-facing role at the heart of our business — shaping the cloud solutions we design, sell, and deliver. You'll work across the full lifecycle: supporting pre-sales conversations with technical credibility, architecting and leading complex multi-cloud projects, guiding new customers through onboarding, and mentoring the wider architecture and engineering team. You'll also lend your expertise to our Managed Service support function, helping resolve complex, high-impact issues.

This is a role for someone who is as comfortable in front of a prospective client whiteboarding a solution as they are deep in the technical detail of a migration, and who enjoys developing the people around them.

What You'll Do

  • Pre-Sales Support — Partner with the sales team on scoping calls, discovery workshops, and proposals; translate customer requirements into credible, well-architected cloud solutions and help win new business.
  • Lead Complex Projects — Own the end-to-end architecture and technical delivery of complex, multi-cloud projects, from design through implementation, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective.
  • Client Onboarding — Lead technical onboarding for new customers, running discovery sessions to understand their environments, defining support requirements, and setting up customers for a smooth transition into JAM's managed services.
  • Managed Service Support — Act as a senior technical escalation point for our Managed Service teams, helping troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and providing architectural guidance on customer environments.
  • Mentoring & Leadership — Coach and mentor architects and engineers, raising the technical bar across the team, sharing best practices, and supporting career development.
  • Best Practice & Standards — Champion Well-Architected principles across AWS and other cloud platforms, and contribute to internal frameworks, documentation, and reference architectures.
  • Stakeholder Communication — Present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-level client contacts.

What We're Looking For

  • Multi-Cloud Expertise: Extensive, hands-on experience across at least two major cloud platforms, with AWS mandatory, plus proven experience in either Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Track Record of Delivery: Demonstrable experience leading and delivering complex, large-scale cloud projects — migrations, modernisation, multi-region or multi-account architectures — from design to go-live.
  • Certifications: Relevant professional cloud certifications required, for example:AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or Associate minimum)Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, orGoogle Professional Cloud Architect
  • Pre-Sales Experience: Comfortable supporting commercial conversations — scoping, estimating, and articulating technical value to prospective clients.
  • Managed Services Background: Understanding of running production workloads at scale, including monitoring, incident management, and operational excellence.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Experience mentoring or leading other architects/engineers, with a genuine passion for developing people.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to flex between deep technical discussions and executive-level summaries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and observability tooling is a strong plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CMS/application platforms such as Sitecore, Drupal, AEM, or Umbraco
  • Experience working with digital agencies or enterprise clients
