Key Responsibilities
Administer and support Linux/Unix server environments, ensuring system availability, performance, security and operational stability.
• Perform day-to-day Linux system administration, including OS installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, service management, user administration and troubleshooting.
• Monitor system health, CPU, memory, disk, filesystem and network performance, proactively identifying and resolving infrastructure issues.
• Develop and maintain Bash/Shell scripts to automate system administration, monitoring, health checks, log management, backup activities and routine operational tasks.
• Perform server patch management, including patch assessment, scheduling, implementation, post-patch validation and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS, application, storage, network and system-level issues, performing root-cause analysis and coordinating resolution with relevant technical teams.
• Manage system services, processes, filesystems, permissions, users and groups, ensuring secure and reliable server operations.
• Support high-availability, backup and disaster recovery activities, including system recovery and validation.
• Configure and maintain cron jobs and automated operational tasks using Bash/Shell scripting.
• Monitor and analyse system and application logs to identify errors, performance issues and security-related events.
• Support infrastructure deployments, upgrades, configuration changes and production releases, following change management and operational procedures.
• Work closely with Application, Database, Network, Security and DevOps teams to resolve incidents and support enterprise applications.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks and recovery procedures for Linux and infrastructure operations.
