Job Summary

Join a leading Chinese commercial bank as a Loans Officer on a 1-year contract, managing loan operations, credit documentation, regulatory reporting, and process improvements within an international banking environment.

Responsibilities

Loan Operations & Administration

  • Review and interpret Facility Agreements, Letters of Offer, and credit documents to verify transaction eligibility and compliance
  • Process loan drawdowns, rollovers, principal repayments, interest payments, and fee collections for bilateral and syndicated loans
  • Prepare accurate SWIFT payment instructions for loan disbursements following established procedures
  • Coordinate with Relationship Managers to resolve outstanding documentation and operational issues
  • Maintain and organize loan records ensuring secure filing and easy retrieval

Trade Finance & Banking Operations

  • Process and administer Bank Guarantees and Letters of Credit in line with bank policies and procedures
  • Conduct AML/KYC checks to ensure compliance during transaction processing

Regulatory Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare local regulatory, internal, and Head Office reports meeting deadlines and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with IT teams on banking system enhancements, upgrades, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Participate in operational projects and process improvements as assigned by management

Required competencies and certifications

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in loan operations, loan administration, credit documentation, or corporate banking operations
  • Familiarity with bilateral and syndicated loans, SWIFT payments, Bank Guarantees, or Letters of Credit
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC requirements and banking operational controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and Relationship Managers
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin to communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and the bank’s Head Office
  • Proactive attitude, strong responsibility, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
