Job Summary
Join Inchcape Shipping Services as a Logistics Executive to contribute to seamless port operations and enable global trade through expert local knowledge and a vast international network.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver expert port call services to ensure smooth shipping operations and successful trade outcomes
- Apply local knowledge and global infrastructure to provide safe, transparent service to customers
- Collaborate effectively with clients across oil, cruise, container, bulk commodity sectors, naval, government, and intergovernmental organizations
- Utilize real-time port data and market intelligence to inform customer decisions and improve operational efficiency
- Manage full logistics scope including booking, coordination, warehouse/storeroom management, documentation, inventory control for AIR, SEA, LAND, CROSS TRADES, billing, and projects
- Prepare and execute Bills of Lading (BLs), Delivery Orders (DO), and related documentation for Principals
- Meet Principals’ and Customers’ demands while minimizing total costs such as storage and transportation
- Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure optimal pricing and terms
- Plan and oversee daily logistics operations including receiving spares and samples
- Manage storeroom delivery, distribution, and maintain accurate inventory in vendor warehouses
- Identify operational gaps and analyze root causes to prevent shipment or operational delays
- Organize transportation activities, update inventory records, and coordinate movement of goods from origin to delivery
- Execute logistics plans to ensure timely delivery of products and packages
- Review freight rates and transportation costs to maintain cost efficiency
- Ensure warehouse safety, cleanliness, and optimal space management
- Interface logistics operations with fleet management and production for receipt, repacking, bulking, and tagging of chemicals for storage and retrieval
- Verify vendor invoices for accuracy before approval submission
- Communicate with vessel PIC/Agents via email for spares delivery instructions
- Reconcile incoming items with drivers and appointed forwarders upon delivery
- Maintain clear accountability within the department and ensure awareness of job responsibilities among team members
- Ensure full compliance with the ISS Management System and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Line Manager within the job scope
