Key Responsibilities
1. HBM Equipment Operations & Reliability
- Lead all aspects of HBM Probe equipment installation, maintenance, applications, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure world-class equipment performance through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Drive improvements in equipment availability, utilization, OEE, and overall manufacturing effectiveness.
- Develop maintenance standards, SOPs, spare-part strategies, and equipment lifecycle management plans.
- Lead rapid containment and resolution of critical equipment excursions affecting HBM production.
2. HBM Ramp and Capacity Enablement
- Ensure equipment readiness to support HBM technology qualifications, pilot builds, and HVM ramp.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and planning teams to support capacity expansion and loading requirements.
- Lead equipment installation, qualification, acceptance, and deployment for new HBM technology nodes.
- Manage equipment constraint reduction activities to meet cycle time and output targets.
- Drive factory readiness plans supporting future HBM expansion.
3. Technical Leadership & Equipment Engineering
- Establish technical ownership for HBM probers, testers, probe cards, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure.
- Drive complex root cause investigations using structured methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and statistical analysis.
- Lead benchmark studies, tool-to-tool matching, equipment optimization, and best practice deployment.
- Develop next-generation HBM Probe equipment strategy and technology roadmap in partnership with global stakeholders.
- Evaluate and qualify new technologies to improve productivity, cost, quality, and operational flexibility.
4. Smart Manufacturing, AI & Automation
- Drive deployment and applying AI-enabled predictive maintenance and equipment health monitoring solutions.
- Leverage AI and machine learning, advanced analytics, and visualization tools to improve equipment reliability and decision making.
- Lead automation projects that enhance troubleshooting, maintenance execution, and technician productivity.
- Partner with SMAI and AI transformation to implement intelligent manufacturing capabilities.
5. Equipment Quality & Yield Improvement
- Support yield improvement initiatives through equipment characterization, defect reduction, and process robustness improvements.
- Lead equipment-related investigations impacting HBM quality, reliability, and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement projects targeting defectivity reduction and process capability enhancement.
- Ensure robust equipment controls to support product quality and material integrity.
6. Organization & Talent Development
- Build and develop a high-performing HBM Equipment Engineering organization.
- Coach engineers and technologists through structured technical and leadership development plans.
- Establish succession planning and critical skill development for future HBM expansion.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
7. Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with equipment suppliers to improve tool performance, service support, and roadmap alignment.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Process, Product, Procurement, Quality, and Central Engineering teams.
- Lead supplier escalations, technical reviews, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Drive cross-functional execution to achieve HBM business objectives.
8. Safety, Sustainability & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS safety requirements.
- Drive risk assessments and mitigation plans for all equipment-related activities.
- Support sustainability initiatives through energy optimization, waste reduction, and equipment efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in equipment maintenance and continuous improvement within a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience with strong team-building and mentoring capabilities.
- Proficiency in data analytics to derive insights on equipment performance is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills to work effectively across teams.
- Proven project management skills and experience managing cross-functional initiatives.
