Job Description

About the Department

Markets Operations supports Global Markets across the trade lifecycle, including pre-settlement and post-settlement processing, confirmations, investigations, static data, controls and documentation. Singapore serves as a regional centre of excellence and supports selected APAC branches and subsidiaries through a centralized operating model.

The department is progressing its transformation agenda through process re-engineering, automation, straight-through processing, stronger data governance and disciplined risk management, while continuing to deliver timely and reliable service to internal and external stakeholders.

Role Purpose

Maintain accurate, complete and controlled static and reference data used by Treasury platforms and downstream processes, enabling reliable trade capture, accounting, confirmation, settlement and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

· Create and maintain approved counterparty, issuer, instrument, security, settlement-instruction, calendar, portfolio, product and other reference-data records in Murex, TSDS and relevant platforms.

· Review requests for completeness, validity and required approvals before processing, and clarify incomplete or ambiguous instructions with requestors.

· Perform maker or checker activities in accordance with segregation-of-duties requirements and maintain clear before-and-after evidence.

· Apply data standards, naming conventions, mapping rules and effective dates consistently across systems and entities.

· Monitor static-data requests and exception queues, prioritize time-critical requests, and meet agreed service levels and operational cut-offs.

· Investigate data issues and downstream breaks, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate remediation and prevent recurrence.

· Maintain controlled repositories for validated settlement instructions and supporting records, and ensure changes are traceable and auditable.

· Support periodic control activities such as dormant-record reviews, access reviews, data-quality checks, reconciliations and procedure reviews.

· Assess static-data implications for new products, new entities, system changes and projects; participate in requirements gathering, testing and implementation.

· Work with Global Markets, Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and external data providers to resolve data dependencies and control gaps.

· Identify opportunities to automate data sourcing, validation, enrichment, publication, monitoring and exception handling.

· Maintain current procedures and reference guides; support training, cross-skilling, business continuity and knowledge transfer.

· Provide holiday support where required to ensure continuity of critical static-data and Markets Operations activities.

· Comply with Bank policies, data-governance standards, operational risk requirements and applicable regulatory obligations.

Skills and Experience

· Degree or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

· Good knowledge of Treasury products such as securities, derivatives, foreign exchange and money markets.

· Good understanding of front-to-back trade processing and the related operational risks and controls.

· Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with sound judgement and accountability.

· Able to prioritize effectively and work accurately in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

· Improvement-oriented mindset with an interest in automation, data quality and operational efficiency.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Murex, SWIFT or other Treasury platforms is advantageous.

· Experience in static data, reference data, instrument or counterparty setup, settlement instructions, or Treasury systems is advantageous.

· High level of attention to detail and an understanding of how data changes affect trade processing, accounting, settlement and reporting.

What Success Looks Like

· Accurate and timely completion of assigned activities within agreed service levels and cut-off times.

· Prompt identification, escalation and resolution of exceptions, with clear audit trails.

· Consistent adherence to maker-checker controls, procedures, operational risk standards and regulatory requirements.

· Constructive collaboration across teams and active contribution to process improvement, automation and team capability building.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
