The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with design standards and specifications. Supports engineering change management, PLM data integrity, component classification, and documentation control to facilitate efficient product development and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Generate, revise, and maintain drawings and CAD models in accordance with engineering specifications, design requirements, and change requests, while ensuring accurate data management in the PLM system
- Perform detailed drafting checks to ensure that drawings comply with company drafting standards, engineering specifications, and documentation requirements
- Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation by validating drawing updates and ensuring proper documentation control in the PLM environment
- Execute CAD data migration, drawing conversion, and legacy documentation update projects to improve data consistency with current engineering standards
- Manage and maintain the Classification for Components within the PLM environment to ensure accurate part categorization and efficient data retrieval
- Develop technical documentation and publications, such as kit installation instructions, spare parts book and hardware user manuals
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
- Proficiency in NX and/or SolidWorks CAD software will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat software
- Able to work in an environment with heavy multi-site engineering and cross-functional collaboration
- Effective verbal & written communication skills, a positive attitude, an open mindset and a team-oriented individual
