Key Daily Responsibilities (Core Priority) - Zero-Tolerance Quality & Hygiene Inspection:
- Rotten / Spoiled Egg Clearance: Conduct thorough daily inspections of all egg cartons and displays. Immediately remove, record, and dispose of any broken, cracked, leaking, or rotten eggs.
- Pest & Maggot Elimination: Maintain strict shelf, display, and backroom hygiene. Continuously inspect shelves, trays, and surrounding display areas to ensure complete absence of maggots, insects, or pest contamination.
- Strict Expiry Date Checks: Audit freshness dates daily. Immediately pull any expired or near-expiry stock from the sales floor according to company clearance protocols.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Standards
- 100% Quality & Hygiene Compliance: Zero instances of customer complaints regarding rotten eggs, maggots, or expired stock on the sales floor.
- Daily Sanitation Verification: Ensure display shelves and holding trays are thoroughly cleaned, wiped, and disinfected before restocking.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
- High Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to quality control, product freshness, and hygiene standards.
- Food Safety Awareness: Basic understanding of pest control, sanitation protocols, and fresh food handling requirements.
Key secondary Responsibilities
1. Stock & Inventory Management
- Strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) Rotation: Always move older inventory to the front and stock newer shipments behind to minimize wastage and near-expiration issues.
- Stock Out & Overstock Prevention: Monitor inventory daily to ensure shelves are fully stocked during peak shopping hours without overfilling to the point of product damage.
- Returns & Loss Tracking: Record and process damaged, broken, or spoiled eggs promptly according to store/supplier policy for credit or proper disposal.
2. Display & Presentation Standards
- Planogram & Display Adherence: Ensure products are arranged according to agreed display layouts, facing forward, and neatly aligned.
- Correct Pricing & Signage: Verify that price tags, promotional overlays, unit prices, and barcode tags are accurate, clearly visible, and aligned with the correct product.
- Secondary Displays / Feature Placement: Set up and maintain promotional end-caps, island displays, or special refrigeration units during marketing campaigns.
3. Storage & Food Safety Compliance
- Temperature Monitoring: Regularly check that refrigerator/cooler display temperatures and backroom storage units stay within safe regulatory limits to preserve freshness. (for PSE)
- Handling & Packaging Checks: Inspect incoming shipments for hairline fractures, wet/damaged cartons, or crushed packaging before stocking.
- Backroom Organization: Keep the back-of-house storage area organized, clean, and properly labeled so stock is easy to access for quick replenishment.
4. Communication & Store Relationships
- Store Management Coordination: Build strong relationships with store managers and department heads to negotiate better display space, additional shelf facings, or prime promotional spots.
- Demand & Competitor Reporting: Provide feedback to sales/supply chain teams regarding stock turnover rates, customer complaints, competitor pricing, or rival promotional activities.
