About the role

We are seeking a junior to mid-level Network Engineer on behalf of our Systems Integrator client. This role will offer an exciting opportunity to work on complex network infrastructure projects and systems integration initiatives. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions that support our clients' business objectives. This position is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts our ability to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions and maintain our reputation for technical excellence in the industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive network infrastructure solutions tailored to client requirements and industry best practices
  • Conduct network assessments and audits to identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement
  • Integrate network systems with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance
  • Configure and deploy network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Perform network troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve connectivity issues and minimise downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems administrators, security specialists, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Conduct network testing and validation to ensure solutions meet performance and security requirements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and client stakeholders
  • Stay current with emerging network technologies and industry developments to recommend innovative solutions

What we're looking for

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Min. 2-3 years of experience in network engineering, preferably from System Integrator or IT Solutioning/ service provider backgrounds
  • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network architectures
  • Familiar with products/ equipment from major vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE Aruba or Arista
  • Understanding of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and secure network design
  • Experience with network management tools and monitoring solutions
  • Certification in relevant areas such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent industry-recognised credentials
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to resolve critical network issues
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies and cloud networking is preferred
  • Knowledge of systems integration methodologies and project lifecycle management is advantageous
