Clinical Practice
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and provide appropriate interventions to meet residents’ functional and rehabilitation needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient reviews and contribute occupational therapy recommendations to residents’ care planning.
- Guide and supervise Therapy Assistants and volunteers in the delivery of relevant therapy-related activities.
- Work collaboratively with the rehabilitation and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
Professional Development & Training
- Maintain current professional knowledge and apply evidence-based occupational therapy practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of occupational therapy services.
- Support the training and development of therapy aides, therapy associates, volunteers and caregivers.
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to OT and Therapy Assistant students during clinical placements.
- Conduct or contribute to relevant education sessions for nursing staff.
- Participate in research, clinical development and service improvement initiatives.
Service & Administrative Support
- Provide operational support and service coverage within the Allied Health Team when required.
- Maintain accurate departmental workload statistics and incident reports, and submit them to the relevant reporting leads.
- Provide feedback and contribute to the performance development of Therapy Assistants and Therapy Associates, where applicable.
Quality Improvement & Other Duties
- Participate in departmental and organisation-wide projects, committees and quality improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to the implementation of appropriate solutions.
