The posting

The Operations Manager will manage and progressively strengthen the end-to-end operations of HALE SMOOTHIES' vending machine business. The role covers network expansion, location assessment, machine deployment, daily vending operations, inventory and replenishment planning, vendor coordination, performance analysis and continuous improvement. As the incumbent is transitioning from a different industry, the role will require the development and application of new food services, vending, commercial and datadriven operational capabilities while drawing on transferable strengths in planning, coordination and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development, Strategic Location Sourcing & Commercial Assessment

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for vending machine placements through market prospecting, referrals, partnerships and direct engagement with landlords, building management teams, corporate clients and other potential site partners.

• Build and manage a pipeline of prospective vending locations, and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders to understand their requirements, site availability, commercial terms and deployment considerations.

• Conduct market and location assessments to evaluate customer profiles, footfall, surrounding amenities, competitor presence, demand potential and alignment with the company's target market and expansion priorities.

• Assess the commercial and operational viability of prospective locations based on expected sales potential, rental or commission costs, accessibility, operating requirements and potential risks.

• Develop business justifications and recommendations for suitable opportunities, support commercial discussions and negotiations, and progress viable locations from initial engagement through site confirmation to support vending network expansion and revenue growth.

2. Vending Network Operations & Process Improvement

• Oversee day-to-day vending machine operations, including machine availability, product availability, replenishment, hygiene, maintenance and service standards.

• Monitor operational performance and identify recurring issues relating to machine downtime, replenishment, servicing and other vending workflows.

• Review existing operational processes and identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, service reliability and resource utilisation.

• Develop and implement process improvements and preventive measures to address recurring operational issues and minimise service disruptions.

• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and refine operational processes to strengthen overall vending network productivity and reliability.

3. CRM – Driven Customer, Sales and Operational Performance Analysis

• Utilise the company's in-house CRM system to monitor and analyse customer, sales, transaction, product and location-level performance across the vending network.

• Identify customer purchasing patterns, demand trends, peak periods, high- and low-performing locations and product performance.

• Analyse performance differences across vending locations and identify factors affecting customer demand, sales and machine performance.

• Translate CRM findings into recommendations on customer engagement, product mix, location performance and operational improvements.

• Prepare performance summaries and reports to support management's data-driven operational and business decision-making.

4. Inventory, Product Assortment and Replenishment Optimisation

• Applying insights from company's in-house CRM system to review sales movement, customer demand, product performance and location-specific inventory requirements

• Monitor stock-outs, slow-moving products, expiry and wastage risks, and refine replenishment frequency and stock planning accordingly.

• Plan and optimise product assortment and stock allocation according to customer demand and vending location performance.

• Develop and refine replenishment schedules and stock levels to maintain product availability while avoiding unnecessary overstocking.

• Monitor stock-outs, slow-moving inventory, product expiry and wastage risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Continuously review product and inventory performance to improve sales potential, stock efficiency and replenishment effectiveness across the vending network.
