Our Client, an International Law Firm is seeking for a Paralegal for their growing Practice.
Location: Central Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Management of case/matter files.
- Support fee earners in legal project management, particularly collecting, monitoring and reporting on conditions precedent.
- Drafting of agreements and contracts.
- Maintain organised physical and electronic records, including document control and version management.
- Support fee earners in efficient housekeeping and file management.
- Attend meetings and calls, take full and accurate notes, and complete clear follow-up file notes.
- Draft, amend and update documents (pleadings, contracts, correspondence, affidavits and other legal documents) with effective version control, using standard precedents where appropriate.
- Review, proof-read and check format, numbering, cross-references and consistent terminology across all relevant documents.
- Summarise documents and produce chronologies, summaries and research memos for attorney review.
- Research statutes, case law, regulations and precedents to support legal arguments.
- Review and analyse legal precedents, contracts and corporate records, including for due diligence.
- Assist with company, bankruptcy and similar searches.
- Organise, review and index documents for disclosure and discovery.
- Prepare and compile court, transaction and hearing bundles and exhibits.
- Verify information as required, including checking that information on file is up to date.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
- Identify risk issues and conflicts of interest in own work and escalate appropriately.
- Record and post time daily, accurately and fully, and understand the basics of the billing process, including assisting with invoice preparation.
- Carry out administrative tasks efficiently
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in law, legal studies or a related field of studies
- Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, ideally in a law firm or similar setting
- Relevant paralegal certification or professional training is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
