Providence Care Centre (PCC) is a non-profit centre supporting children and youths academically, focusing on students receiving financial aid and from underprivileged families.

Job Summary

Join PCC as a Part-Time Tutor for Academic Year 2027 to teach and mentor students, fostering their learning, confidence and character development through small-group tuition.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct small-group tuition classes for Primary and/or Secondary students to support their academic growth
  • Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the school syllabus and tailored to students’ learning needs
  • Monitor students’ learning progress and provide timely guidance and support to improve outcomes
  • Maintain effective classroom management to create a positive and focused learning environment
  • Encourage and motivate students by acting as a tutor, mentor, and positive role model
  • Demonstrate PCC’s core values of Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Kindness, and Gratitude in interactions with students

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Possess a Polytechnic/Diploma, A-Level, undergraduate, or degree qualification with a strong understanding of the subject(s) taught
  • Have some prior teaching or tutoring experience to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement
  • Exhibit passion for teaching, patience, responsibility, and a willingness to learn continuously
  • Communicate clearly and engage effectively with children and youths to foster a supportive learning atmosphere
  • Commit to conducting weekly Saturday lessons throughout the full Academic Year 2027 (January to May and July to October)

Other Information

Work Location: Providence Care Centre Blk 341 Jurong East Ave 1, Singapore 600341

Tutoring Rates: $20–$35 per hour, depending on class level, educational qualifications and relevant teaching/tutoring experience
