Job Description
We are seeking a Photonics Engineer to support the design, simulation, and characterization of optical and photonic components. The engineer will work closely with R&D teams to develop photonic devices and integrated optical systems for advanced applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze photonic devices such as waveguides, modulators, couplers, and photodetectors.
- Perform optical simulations using Ansys Lumerical, FDTD/FEM solvers, or equivalent platforms.
- Support development of silicon photonics, integrated optics, or free-space optical systems.
- Conduct optical measurements (IL, RL, responsivity, spectral response) using lab instruments.
- Assist in prototyping, device characterization, and performance validation.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams on design constraints and process requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and experimental summaries.
- Perform chip-level and wafer-level characterization of passive and active photonic devices.
- Support test setup development, data processing programs, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Photonics, Optoelectronics, Optical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in characterization of active and passive photonic devices, including optical/electrical measurements.
- Familiarity with optical alignment, electrical probing, and optical lab instruments such as tunable lasers and OSAs.
- Understanding of waveguide theory, guided-wave devices, and optical material interactions.
- Experience in LiDAR, 3D sensing, hybrid materials, or semiconductor foundry processes is a plus.
- Strong analytical, programming, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional R&D teams.
