Piping Engineer – Power Plant / Energy Projects

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Piping Engineer to support piping engineering, construction and project execution activities for power plant and energy infrastructure projects in Singapore.

The successful candidate will support piping design reviews, installation, testing, commissioning and completion activities while coordinating closely with engineering, construction, QA/QC and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support piping engineering and construction activities for power plant, utility and energy projects.
  • Review P&IDs, piping layouts, isometric drawings, piping specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate piping fabrication, installation and site construction activities.
  • Review piping routing, tie-in points, equipment interfaces and pipe-support requirements.
  • Provide technical support and resolve piping-related issues during construction and installation.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC and Commissioning teams.
  • Review piping materials, specifications, MTOs and relevant technical documentation.
  • Support preparation and review of test packs and piping completion documentation.
  • Coordinate and witness hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, flushing, cleaning and reinstatement activities.
  • Perform piping walkdowns and identify punch-list items prior to mechanical completion.
  • Support welding and NDT coordination with QA/QC teams.
  • Review and respond to technical queries, RFIs and site engineering issues.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure piping works comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Support system turnover from construction to pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Review red-line drawings and support preparation of as-built documentation.
  • Ensure piping activities comply with applicable engineering standards, project specifications, quality requirements and site safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in piping engineering, piping construction or mechanical project execution.
  • Experience within power plants, power generation, utilities, Waste-to-Energy, process plants, petrochemical or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Good understanding of P&IDs, piping isometrics, piping layouts and piping specifications.
  • Experience with piping fabrication, installation and site construction activities.
  • Familiar with hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, reinstatement and piping completion activities.
  • Understanding of piping materials, valves, fittings, pipe supports, welding and NDT requirements.
  • Experience with test packs, mechanical completion, punch listing and handover documentation.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and site problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently in a project/site environment.
