Job Description & Requirements

As a Director, Project at DB&B, you will take the lead on complex commercial interior projects from inception through completion. You’ll work closely with clients, project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget, while supporting DB&B’s business and client objectives. We’re looking for a strong project leader who can bring together creative thinking, commercial awareness and effective leadership to deliver successful projects and build lasting client relationships.

What you'll do

Project Pitching

  • Meet with new clients alongside the Business Development team to understand their needs, project scope and expectations, and provide expert advice and solutions.
  • Lead and direct project pitching activities, including proposals, delivery strategies, staffing plans and resource allocation across different project phases.

Project Management

  • Lead, mentor and work closely with Project and Operations teams and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard of quality.
  • Act as a key interface between DB&B and our clients, gathering feedback, addressing issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts, proactively manage project risks and put mitigation strategies in place.
  • Oversee project coordination and ensure projects remain aligned with schedules, budgets and client expectations. Monitor project performance and take corrective action where required.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work complies with design specifications, building codes and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure teams follow company policies and workflows, reviewing and approving processes to maintain consistency and efficiency.
  • Plan and assign projects to team members, ensuring resources are well managed and projects run smoothly.
  • Review layout plans, M&E plans and visuals prepared by the team, and oversee time plans, competitive quotations and costings for client tenders while safeguarding company profit margins.
  • Review work-in-progress reports submitted by the team and follow up on key project matters.
  • Facilitate payment collections in accordance with contracts, working closely with the Finance Department to support healthy project cash flow.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by your superior or EXCO.

What you'll bring

  • A background in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as PMP are an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of relevant project management experience, with a proven track record managing large-scale and complex commercial interior design projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead, mentor and motivate project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project management processes and tools, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills, with the ability to understand client needs, resolve issues and build long-term relationships.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, financial management and contract negotiation, with the ability to manage project finances and safeguard profitability.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in project deliverables, quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills to drive projects and teams towards successful outcomes.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application with a detailed resume and expected salary. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
