Job Summary
Join our Contracts team as a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support project cost estimation, tender preparation, contract review, cost control, and coordination for lift and escalator projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for new lift installations and interior fittings in condominium and commercial projects
- Perform quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) for lift and escalator packages
- Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for related builder’s works and scaffolding
- Assist Senior Quantity Surveyor in preparing tender submissions to main contractors
- Review main contract conditions to identify commercial risks related to lift packages
- Prepare and compare subcontractor and supplier proposals for informed decision-making
- Monitor project budgets against actual costs for lift installation and interior fitting projects
- Prepare and submit monthly progress claims to main contractors accurately and timely
- Measure and value variation orders, including additional floors, specification changes, shaft size modifications, and material changes
- Assist in final account settlements with main contractors to ensure accurate project closure
- Liaise effectively with Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Clients, and Main Contractors to facilitate smooth project execution
- Maintain organized records of claims, variation orders, invoices, delivery orders, and contracts for audit and reference
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; experience in the lift/elevator industry or as a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of PSSCOC and SIA contracts is beneficial for contract understanding
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and ability to read architectural and structural drawings is a plus
- Strong numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail and organizational ability
- Demonstrates responsibility, willingness to learn, ability to meet tight deadlines, and effective communication skills
