The posting

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and contractual management of our construction projects in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender documentation.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, prepare cost comparisons, and assist with procurement and subcontract preparation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims, and assess subcontractors’ progress claims and payment applications.
  • Identify, evaluate and prepare variation claims, including supporting measurements, cost breakdowns and relevant records.
  • Monitor project costs, track budget variances and prepare cost reports and forecasts.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams on valuations, variations and contractual matters.
  • Assist in the preparation and settlement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with Singapore construction projects is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of quantity measurement, procurement, contract administration, progress claims and variation assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with quantity take-off software would be an advantage.
  • Good analytical, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage to facilitate work-related communication with Mandarin-speaking project team members and subcontractors.
