JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES –

QuantitySurveyor

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible forproviding commercial supports for before, during and after sales, including fordrawings proposal; and in aid for production; as well as manage any assignedongoing projects, monitoring of site progress against materials ordered and tobe ordered.

The Quantity Surveyor reports to the TechnicalManager, Head of Marketing & Sales, and General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A) Tender, QuantityTake-Off & Costing

The QuantitySurveyor shall be responsible for preparing accurate quantities and costestimates for projects involving the StiFlex Steel stiffener, lintel andrelated systems.

Duties:

1. Review tender drawings,architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, schedules andother relevant project documents to identify the scope of works and materialrequirements.

2. Carry out quantity take-offand measurement of steel stiffeners, lintels, accessories, connectors andother related materials based on drawings, schedules, specifications and/orinformation provided by the client.

3. Prepare Bill of Quantities(BQ), material schedules and quantity summaries for tender and commercialsubmission purposes.

4. Coordinate with the SolutionsEngineer / Technical Team to ensure that the quantities measured are based onthe correct stiffener positions, profiles, sizes, lengths and designrequirements.

5. Review and verify quantitiesgenerated from drawings, BIM models, take-off software or external outsourceddrafting services.

6. Identify discrepancies,omissions, duplication or inconsistencies between drawings, specifications, BQand proposed material quantities.

7. Prepare preliminary anddetailed material cost estimates for projects based on approved companypricing, material specifications, fabrication requirements and projectconditions.

8. Assist the Sales Team inpreparing competitive and commercially viable quotations for customers.

9. Evaluate the commercial impactof different design or material options and provide cost comparisons to supportvalue engineering and cost optimization.

10. Maintain proper records ofproject quantities, costing assumptions, exclusions, inclusions and othercommercial considerations used in each quotation.

B) Quotation &Commercial Support

The QuantitySurveyor shall support the Sales and Technical Teams in ensuring thatquotations are accurate, commercially competitive and aligned with theCompany's scope of supply.

Duties:

1. Prepare and issue quotationsbased on approved quantities, pricing and commercial terms.

2. Review customer enquiries,tender documents and BQs to determine the Company's scope of supply.

3. Verify that the proposedquotation covers the required stiffeners, lintels, accessories, fabrication,delivery and other applicable items.

4. Liaise with the Sales andSolutions Engineering Teams where clarification is required on technicalrequirements, design assumptions or material quantities.

5. Prepare alternative quotationsor pricing options where different technical or material solutions areproposed.

6. Assist in preparing valueengineering proposals by comparing alternative material configurations,profiles, lengths, quantities and installation arrangements.

7. Monitor quotation status andfollow up on outstanding commercial submissions where required.

8. Maintain a proper record ofquotations, revisions, tender results, awarded projects and lost projects formanagement review.

9. Assist the Sales Team in analyzingcompetitor pricing, project budget requirements and market conditionswhere information is available.

C) Project Quantity &Material Monitoring

The QuantitySurveyor shall monitor awarded and ongoing projects to ensure that materialquantities remain aligned with the original tender, approved drawings, siterequirements and customer orders.

Duties:

1. Establish an initial projectquantity baseline upon award of the project.

2. Monitor quantities againstforecast materials submitted.

3. Monitor material usage andidentify significant deviations from the original estimated quantities.

4. Liaise with the SolutionsEngineer, Sales Team, Production and Logistics Department to ensure thatmaterial requirements are properly coordinated.

5. Assist in preparing materialforecasts for ongoing projects to support production planning andprocurement.

6. Monitor project progress andprovide updated quantity forecasts where required.

7. Maintain an updated ProjectQuantity Tracking / Material Forecast Report for all assigned projects.

8. Assist Management in reviewingproject performance against the original estimated quantities and commercialvalue.

D) Variation, AdditionalWorks & Commercial Claims

The QuantitySurveyor shall assist in identifying, evaluating and documenting changes to theCompany's scope of supply.

Duties:

1. Identify potential variationorders, additional quantities, omissions and changes in scope during theproject.

2. Compare revised drawings, siterequirements and customer instructions against the original approved scope.

3. Prepare documents/drawings andcost implications for proposed variations.

4. Assist the Sales / Accounting Teamin preparing variation quotations and claims.

5. Maintain proper records andsupporting documentation for variation submissions, including drawings,correspondence, site instructions, quantity calculations and quotations.

6. Monitor the status of submittedvariations and follow up with the relevant parties where necessary.

E) Purchase Order, BQ &Requisition Order Support

The QuantitySurveyor shall assist in ensuring that project orders are commercially andquantitatively accurate before materials are released for production.

Duties:

1. Review customer Purchase Ordersagainst submitted quotations and approved quantities.

2. Verify that the quantities anddescriptions in Purchase Orders correspond with the Company's quotation andagreed scope.

3. Identify discrepancies betweenthe customer's Purchase Order, quotation, BQ and approved drawings.

4. Assist in preparing andchecking Bill of Quantities (BQ) for clients, Requisition Orders (RO) forproduction fabrication purpose.

5. Coordinate with the SolutionsEngineer and Production Team to ensure that the correct quantities andspecifications are released for fabrication.

6. Verify revisions to orders andensure that revised quantities are properly recorded and communicated to therelevant departments.

7. Maintain proper records of ordered,fabricated, delivered and outstanding quantities.

F)Coordination withTechnical & Engineering Team

The Quantity Surveyor shall work closely with the SolutionsEngineering / Technical Team to ensure that quantity take-offs and commercialsubmissions are technically aligned.

Duties:

1. Obtain the latest approveddrawings and design information for quantity measurement.

2. Coordinate with the Engineers/Draftersregarding:

· Stiffener positions

· Lintel positions

· Profile sizes

· Steel thickness

· Member lengths

· Wall heights

· Openings

· Special conditions

· Non-standard designs

3. Ensure that quantity take-offsare based on the latest drawing revision.

4. Highlight any technicalinformation that may have a commercial or quantity impact.

5. Assist the Technical Team inevaluating the quantity and cost implications of non-standard designs.

6. Provide quantity and costinformation to support design optimization and value engineering.

G) Site & ProjectSupport

Where necessary, the Quantity Surveyor shall participate in siteactivities to verify actual project conditions and quantities.

Duties:

1. Attend site meetings whenrequired for commercial or design-related matters / progress matters.

2. Conduct site checking orquantity verification where required.

3. Review site progress againstestimated and ordered quantities. Take photo and using in-house reportingsystem to update progress.

4. Liaise with the Site Team,Contractor and/or Sub-contractor to clarify quantity-related matters.

5. Coordinate with the SolutionsEngineer where site conditions require technical assessment before additionalquantities can be confirmed.

H) Production, Logistics& Inventory Coordination

The Quantity Surveyor shall support Production and Logistics byproviding accurate and timely project quantity information.

Duties:

1. Provide updated projectquantity forecasts to support production planning.

2. Coordinate with Production andLogistics regarding quantities required for upcoming fabrication and delivery.

3. Monitor quantities fabricatedand delivered against approved orders.

4. Identify discrepancies betweenordered, fabricated and delivered quantities.

5. Assist in minimizing materialwastage, excess fabrication and unnecessary production through proper quantitycontrol.

6. Assist in reviewing returned,unused or additional materials where applicable.

I) Establish and build good relationship with customers/ associates.
