Job Description
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) of the National University of Singapore is hiring one Research Associate to work on the Complex 2D Precast System (C2PS) research project. The successful candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in research on automation and digitalisation of precast concrete production.
The Research Associate will support Phase 1 of the project and will be required to work on: (1) time-motion studies and simulation modelling of precast production workflows; (2) development of a centralized robotic control and middleware architecture; (3) design and simulation of robotic production workstations; and (4) development of vision- and LiDAR-based methods for automated inspection and quality control.
Job Requirements
• Possess at least a master’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or a relevant Built Environment discipline. Qualifications, training, or demonstrated experience in computing, computer science, data analytics, robotics, or related areas will be an advantage. • At least 2 years of relevant work experience. • Possess good quantitative and analytical skills, with an interest in construction automation, digitalisation, and precast production. Experience in process modelling, simulation, BIM, programming, robotics, computer vision, LiDAR/point-cloud processing, or data analysis will be advantageous. • Able to plan and conduct experimental and field studies, including data collection and analysis of construction or manufacturing processes. • Prior experience in construction automation, BIM/digital twins, simulation, robotics, computer vision, LiDAR or point-cloud processing is preferred but not essential. • Applications should include a detailed Curriculum Vitae and contacts of three reference persons.
