The posting

The Signature Research Programme in Health Services Research & Population Health (HSRPH) in Duke-NUS Medical School has been a leader in the study of health systems and services for the population in Singapore and beyond. Through collaborative research, we show whether health services are effective, appropriate, scalable, and economically sustainable. The multi-disciplinary and policy-driven research Duke-NUS produces is done by actively engaging the government, regional health systems, and social service organisations.

Our research methods include implementation science, health economics, decision science, survey, qualitative research, quantitative medicine, epidemiology, and data science. The population health outcomes programme Duke-NUS has established provides a framework for evaluating and improving healthcare delivery systems nationwide. We also offer a range of educational courses for healthcare professionals including workshops and graduate certificates; with Masters and PhD programmes soon to come.

Asst Prof Elaine Lum’s laboratory is seeking a collaborative and self-motivated Research Fellow with expertise in implementation science/implementation research to join her team. The successful candidate will be expected to perform a variety of research and research-related activities which include but not limited to the following:

  • Work with Principal Investigator (PI), clinical, and research teams on implementation science studies. Projects may include pre-implementation studies, implementation studies, hybrid effectiveness-implementation studies, scaling or sustainment studies, and evaluation studies. Innovations may include digital health, AI-enabled health technology, new services/programmes, service re-design, and new models of care/clinical pathways. Some projects may involve de-implementation of innovations.
  • Engage in activities which support and enable research. For example, research ethics submissions to Institutional Review Boards, project management, reporting.
  • Typical research activities (not exhaustive) include designing studies in collaboration with PI, stakeholder engagement and management, recruiting research participants, manage participants, collect data, analyse and interpret data, data management, disseminate and present findings, draft manuscripts, and assist in drafting grant proposals.
  • Participate in the development and/or delivery of educational courses, including contributing to educational programmes, workshops, and seminars.
  • Engage in selected service activities pertinent to the needs of HSRPH or Duke-NUS such as committees, conference/symposia planning, as needed.
  • Any other activities as directed by the Reporting Manager to meet the objectives of HSRPH or Duke-NUS.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a PhD degree with a significant implementation science/implementation research component and in a field relevant to healthcare or health services research. Those completing their PhD this year (with expected PhD conferment) are welcome to apply.
  • Demonstrated research experience in qualitative and mixed methods research (can include PhD experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in real-world implementation will be highly advantageous.
  • Possess excellent written and communications skills in academic and general writing, presentation, team communication, and engagement of stakeholders.
  • Possess strong critical thinking skills.
  • A highly motivated team player who is able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse workforce.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
