The posting

Robotics & Automation Engineer

Responsible for the technical implementation, operation and maintenance of robotics and automation systems used across the Company’s construction projects. Work closely with project and site teams to deploy technology solutions, improve productivity and resolve technical issues associated with robotic and automated equipment.

Robotics & Automation Deployment

· Support the installation, commissioning and deployment of robotics and automated equipment at construction sites.

· Configure and operate robotic systems according to project requirements.

· Conduct testing and commissioning of automation systems before site deployment.

· Monitor equipment performance, reliability and utilization.

· Maintain proper records of equipment usage, performance and maintenance.

Technical & Engineering Support

· Provide hands-on technical support for robotics, automation equipment and control systems.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, control and operational issues.

· Perform basic programming, configuration and system adjustments where required.

· Coordinate with equipment suppliers and technology vendors for technical support and repairs.

· Recommend technical improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.

Construction Productivity

· Study construction activities and identify opportunities for robotics and automation.

· Collect and analyse site productivity and equipment performance data.

· Support productivity improvement initiatives through the application of technology.

· Measure the impact of automation on labour productivity, time savings, quality and cost.

· Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on project data.

R&D and Pilot Projects

· Support research and testing of new robotics, automation and construction technology solutions.

· Participate in proof-of-concept and pilot projects.

· Assist in developing and testing hardware control solutions and automation applications.

· Support the integration of robotics with existing construction processes and equipment.

· Conduct trials and provide feedback for system improvement before full deployment.

Site Operations & Maintenance

· Ensure robotics and automated equipment are properly operated and maintained.

· Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections and basic repairs.

· Develop and maintain equipment maintenance records and checklists.

· Ensure equipment is safely stored, transported and handled between project sites.

· Minimize equipment downtime through timely troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Data Monitoring & Digital Solutions

· Support the implementation of real-time monitoring and data collection systems.

· Assist in developing dashboards and data visualization for equipment and productivity monitoring.

· Collect operational data to support performance analysis and management reporting.

· Work with IT and relevant technical teams to integrate automation systems with digital platforms.

Training & User Support

· Provide training and demonstrations to site personnel on the safe and proper use of robotics equipment.

· Prepare equipment operating guides, SOPs and technical documentation.

· Provide on-site support during initial implementation and user adoption.

· Promote proper utilization of technology among project teams.

Safety & Compliance

· Ensure all robotics and automation equipment is operated in accordance with safety requirements and SOPs.

· Support risk assessments and safe work procedures for technology deployment.

· Work closely with WSH personnel and site teams on safe operation of automated equipment.

· Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions and operational incidents promptly.
