Job Summary

Our client, a leading provider of life science and scientific research solutions, is seeking a driven and customer-focused Sales Account Manager to grow its flow cytometry product portfolio in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and promoting flow cytometry solutions to research laboratories, academic institutions, hospitals, biotechnology companies and pharmaceutical organisations.

This role requires a strong understanding of life science research applications, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate customers’ technical requirements into suitable product solutions.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development: Drive sales of flow cytometers and related products, consumables and reagents, achieving assigned sales targets and revenue objectives.
  • Account Management: Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers, including universities, research institutes, hospitals, clinical laboratories, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting, customer visits, networking, referrals and market research.
  • Product Presentation & Demonstration: Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and technical discussions to communicate the capabilities and applications of flow cytometry solutions.
  • Customer Needs Analysis: Understand customers’ research workflows and experimental requirements, recommending suitable solutions for applications such as immunology, cell biology, cancer research, cell sorting and biomarker analysis.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Manage sales leads, quotations, tenders and sales forecasts, maintaining accurate customer and opportunity records in the CRM system.
  • Customer Engagement: Organise and participate in workshops, seminars, conferences and scientific events to promote the product portfolio and generate new leads.
  • Account Growth: Identify opportunities for repeat business, consumables sales, instrument upgrades and cross-selling of complementary life science products.

Requirements

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 2–5 years of experience in sales, account management or business development within the life sciences, laboratory equipment, scientific instruments or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience selling flow cytometers, cell analysis instruments, laboratory equipment or related life science products will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry principles and applications, including cell analysis, immunophenotyping and cellular research workflows.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a proven ability to develop customer relationships, identify sales opportunities and achieve revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven and comfortable working independently in a customer-facing sales role.
  • Willingness to conduct customer visits and travel locally as required.
