About the Role
As a Sales Engineer, you will build a career in consultative, solution-led selling. You will spend about two days a week in our fast-paced office and about three days a week visiting manufacturers across your assigned territory. On these visits you will work with customers face-to-face to solve their quality control, reliability, research and design challenges. Our products are highly technical, but you will receive thorough training to become a product and applications expert, and to master our proactive sales process and run effective consultations.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete paid product and applications training at our Singapore head office (approximately 3 to 6 months).
- Build in-depth knowledge of our products and applications through classes, seminars and on-the-job learning.
- Advise customers across a range of industries and recommend the right products and services for their needs.
- Adapt readily to the company's expectations and to the varied challenges customers bring.
- Respond to customer enquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Win new customers consistently and efficiently.
- Visit customer sites three days a week and sell to manufacturing and related industries.
- Contribute to account strategy and the territory's strategic plan.
- Execute new product-launch strategies.
- Grow market share in your assigned territory.
- Help organise off-site seminars and trade shows when needed.
- Manage your daily work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Follow company and department policies and procedures.
- Take on other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- A degree in Business, Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
- Strong interest in, and aptitude for, learning technical products.
- Interest in working in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good listening skills, and the ability to respond proactively to customer questions and requests.
- Goal-oriented and hard-working, with a drive to make a measurable contribution to the company's success.
- Commitment to developing yourself through our training, mentorship, engaged management and process-driven sales approach.
- Adherence to company policies, including professional dress code, punctuality, attendance and sales process requirements.
- Ability to travel about 60% of the time, which may include overnight trips.
