Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive the growth of a loading computer software portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region.

The role involves engaging with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards and offshore companies while collaborating with international product and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the product portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maritime and offshore sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards and other industry stakeholders.
  • Understand customers’ operational and technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations, technical proposals, quotations and commercial offers.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and customer engagement through negotiation and contract closure.
  • Coordinate with global product, engineering and technical-support teams on customer requirements.
  • Participate in industry exhibitions, conferences, networking sessions and other market-development activities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and developments in maritime digitalisation and vessel performance.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records and pipeline reports.
  • Support customer onboarding and ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation and after-sales support.
  • Perform other sales and business-development duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Maritime Studies, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of proven sales experience involving ship-performance systems, energy-management solutions, marine software, electrical engineering or automation technology.
  • Strong network or prior customer exposure within the maritime and offshore industries.
  • Good understanding of vessel operations, onboard systems or marine automation.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and communicate technical concepts clearly to customers.
  • Proven ability to manage complex and potentially lengthy sales cycles.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer-service, relationship-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with international teams across different time zones.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.
  • Calm, persistent and commercially focused when managing customers and negotiations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
