Science Lab Assistant
Main duties to include butnot limited to:
i (i) Maintain asafe, clean and tidy laboratory environment at all times, ensuring allapparatus, equipment, materials and specimens are in good working condition andready for use.
i (ii) Promptlyreport faulty machines and equipment to the relevant supervisor and display an"Out of Order" sign on affected items until rectified.
i (iii) Ensureproper disposal of broken glassware and other breakages in accordance withprevailing safety procedures and regulations.
i (iv) Conductregular inspection of Bunsen burners and high-risk items (e.g. data loggers andmicroscopes) to ensure they are in good working condition and secure them underlock and key after use.
i (v) Maintain anup-to-date stock book and breakage record and highlight items requiringreplacement to the relevant supervisor in a timely manner.
i (vi) Check andreplenish first aid supplies at regular intervals to ensure adequate stocklevels are always maintained.
i (vii) AssistScience teachers in the preparation for the conduct of lessons and post-lessonclearing of laboratory equipment/apparatus as and when required.
i (viii) Performany other duties as assigned by the Science Head of Department (HOD).
The Personnel shall have thefollowing qualifications, skills and experience:
i (i) Priorexperience working in a Science laboratory environment, preferably in a primaryschool setting.
i (ii) Proficiencyin written and spoken English.
i (iii) Basicdigital literacy, including the ability to use a computer for administrativetasks such as maintaining records, updating stock books, and communicating withteachers via email and mobile messaging applications.
