Overview of role
In SgIC we innovate for consumer-winning formulations and the associated manufacture processes for our Beauty, Hair, Baby, Health Care and Home Care product categories. We supported a broad array of billion-dollar brands like the SK-II, Olay, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Rejoice, Herbal Essences, FEBREZE, AMBIPUR, Joy, Pampers. ORAL C, etc.
Our Central Material Management group (CMG) is the foundation and provider of materials to enabling all process researching and prototype-making activities. The prototypes made in SgIC then support various consumer validations for organizational units (OU) commercialization readiness.
In this role, the individual will leverage engineering expertise to lead sustained operations and systemic enhancements – including the use of digital tools to drive scale and simplification. The main mission involves running the materials systems, dealing with multiple customers and ensuring production readiness for raw materials. In addition, it will require systematic understanding and expertise around quality systems, with a strong desire to automate the processes.
Your team
Located at the P&G Singapore Innovation Center, you will be a key member of the Innovation Center Management Team. You will partner closely with the research and development communities of Beauty, Home Care and other OUs. And beyond SgIC, you can and should reach out to the greater global R&D organizations and other innovation centers for the similar and adjacent technological disciplines.
How success looks like
Success in this role pertains to delivering the various material release, inventory process system, good lab practices, self-improving operative robustness, and innovating for more efficient and safer logistics.
Growing chemical, automation and engineering masteries to enable the OUs and the broader Material Community of Practices (CoP).
Gain a significant proficiency of understanding the global material quality systems’ requirements, insights into designing effective governance methods, and ideas to transform CMG processes with innovative digital and automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sustain and implement of the CMG established end-to-end business processes of sourcing, receiving, external compliance tracking, internal clearance, deviation control, sampling for tests, labeling, storing and inventory tracking, dispensing, finished goods warehousing, waste handling
- Lead Quality processes of penetrating into the global and SgIC-specific Material-handling related SOPs, strategize on CQA preparedness and CAPA completion, conduct the routine compliance self-audits to enhance for more effective QA and Micro compliances
- Oversee import-and-export process and provide troubleshoots with the key vendors and potentially with the SG custom and other innovation centers.
- Address Procurement-to-Payment related compliance audit (GIA, with Purchase, GBS), daily operation troubleshoots, and contractors handling
- Manage as external business partner and on category-2 service provision, to run the end-to-end material handling systems and processes.
- Own the implementing and regular updating of the QA technical agreement as well as OU alignment on budgeting.
- Transform and simplify CMG processes with innovative digital and automated solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in IT, Engineering, Material Science or related fields
- Strong leadership and communication skills to understand the business objective, local context, and business landscape to deliver the extraordinary outcomes
- Sufficient IT engineering skills, and working knowledge of consumer formulations and manufacturing technologies (e.g., microfluidics, fluid mechanics)
- Work independently, multi-tasking, prioritize and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking capabilities, and good capacity of using information information to connect multiple ideas to develop solutions.
- Ability to develop systematic understanding and expertise around quality systems, with a strong desire to automate end-to-end processes
