The posting

Job Description

  • Act as the central point of design coordination, seamlessly collaborating with internal construction teams, QP(D)s, QPS, clients, and sub-contractor Professional Engineers (PEs).
  • Drive the preparation and review of shop drawings for both temporary and permanent works. You will rigorously check sub-contractor submissions and secure necessary clearances from the client’s in-house team and QP(D).
  • Actively manage and discuss temporary works schemes, conveying precise design expectations to site supervisors and ensuring absolute assurance of as-built temporary works construction.
  • Maintain a sharp awareness of evolving on-site conditions, swiftly raising change requests to the core design team whenever practical adaptations are needed.
  • Track the lifecycle of design submission packages assigned by the Design Manager, ensuring all deliverables are complete, highly efficient, and delivered on schedule.
  • Review, produce, and validate miscellaneous design calculations to support the construction team’s immediate needs, securing official PE endorsements where required.
  • Champion value engineering by optimizing permanent and temporary works designs—focusing heavily on risk elimination, maximizing the reuse of temporary works, ensuring practical constructability, and driving cost-effectiveness.
  • Build productive, respectful relationships with site operations teams to reach a consensus on engineering solutions, proactively troubleshooting issues and escalating critical roadblocks to the Design Manager.

Requirements

  • Education: A Degree in Civil Engineering that is officially recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant, local experience within the construction industry. Candidates with specialized experience in underground construction projects will be given strong preference.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with local construction standards, industry codes, and critical safety requirements.
  • Technical Tools: Hands-on proficiency using essential design, analysis, and drafting software, specifically AutoCAD, BIM Revit, and STAAD Pro.
