Location: Singapore Industry: Private Banking / Financial Services Employment Type: Full-time Perm role with the Bank Client: Confidential – International Private Banking Group

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading international private banking group, is looking for a Senior IT Architect to support the development and evolution of its Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform.

The platform plays an important role in managing the client journey across key banking processes, including client onboarding, KYC, due diligence, periodic reviews, approvals and ongoing client data maintenance.

In this role, you will work closely with architecture and engineering leadership to shape technical solutions, establish architectural direction and guide engineering teams in building secure, scalable and reliable applications.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced architect with a strong software engineering background who can combine high-level architectural thinking with practical implementation knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Platform Development

  • Design and evolve end-to-end solutions for the CLM platform, covering applications, services, workflows, APIs, integrations, data and infrastructure.
  • Translate business needs and regulatory requirements into practical technical designs.
  • Work with architecture leadership to establish design principles, technical standards and the platform's long-term technology direction.
  • Evaluate architectural options and recommend solutions that balance scalability, performance, security and maintainability.

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

  • Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams throughout design and implementation.
  • Review solution designs and identify opportunities to improve technical quality and system reliability.
  • Support engineers in resolving complex development and integration challenges.
  • Promote consistent engineering practices across API design, testing, documentation, security and deployment.
  • Contribute to prototypes and critical technical implementations when necessary.

Security, Reliability & Operational Readiness

  • Ensure CLM solutions address security, data protection, auditability and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assess system performance, scalability, resilience and availability across integrated applications.
  • Support modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and GitOps.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, production investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Drive improvements to observability, operational stability and technical debt management.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with product, business, security, infrastructure, data and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed teams to ensure consistency in design and implementation.
  • Balance long-term architecture objectives with delivery commitments and operational priorities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in solution architecture, application architecture or a comparable senior technical role.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing APIs, service integrations, data flows and end-to-end application solutions.
  • Solid software engineering experience across backend and frontend technologies.
  • Experience with Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, relational databases, SQL, automated testing and Git-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to guide engineers, evaluate technical designs and influence architectural decisions.
  • Strong understanding of application security, system resilience, performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms or related banking systems.
  • Knowledge of client onboarding, KYC, AML, periodic reviews or client data management.
  • Exposure to workflow and business process management technologies, such as Flowable.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies, GitOps, Argo CD and observability tools.
  • Previous experience in private banking, wealth management or other regulated financial services environments.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers or technical leads.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a pragmatic, technically strong architect who understands both enterprise-level design and the realities of software engineering.

You should be comfortable shaping the architecture of a business-critical CLM platform, challenging technical decisions constructively and working alongside engineering teams to deliver secure, resilient and maintainable solutions.

If you have a passion for enterprise architecture and an interest in transforming client lifecycle processes within financial services, we welcome your application.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
