The posting
We have spent the last stretch modernising our technology stack, and it is now in good shape. The next chapter is the experience that sits on top of it.
Three surfaces make up the Helicap platform: the investor portal, the associate portal our internal teams run the business on, and the analytics platform that turns our credit and portfolio data into decisions. All three do real work today. As with any platform that has grown quickly alongside the business it serves, there is now a clear opportunity to step back, simplify the journeys, and bring a single, confident design language across all of them.
Over the next 12 months, we are onboarding more distribution partners, expanding our product portfolio, and moving the investor experience towards self-serve. We want someone to own that end-to-end — the strategy, the design, and the shipping.
This is a hands-on role with unusually broad scope. You will be our first dedicated senior product hire, setting product direction and the design standard for the whole platform, with the Tech Lead and the leadership team directly behind you. If you have wanted to own a product rather than a slice of one, this is that.
Key Responsibilities: 1. The Investor Experience
- Own the end-to-end investor journey — discovery, onboarding and KYC, subscription, portfolio visibility, reporting and redemption.
- Simplify the journeys so investors can reach a decision quickly and confidently, with the right information surfaced at the right moment.
- Take the portal towards genuine self-serve within twelve months, designed hand in hand with Compliance.
- Build an experience that holds its own in front of institutional allocators.
2. The Analytics Platform
- Own the product direction for our data and analytics platform — the surface through which our Investments, Credit and Risk teams, and increasingly our partners, interrogate borrower and portfolio data.
- Work with Engineering and Data to shape the underlying data model and define what a trustworthy, well-understood metric looks like across the firm.
- Turn dense analytical output into something quick to read and act on — the craft here is making complexity legible, not hiding it.
- Identify where analytical capability should move outward: from internal tooling, to partner-facing, to something investors see directly.
3. The Admin Portal
- Own the internal platform our Investments, Operations, Sales, Compliance and Private Capital Solutions teams rely on, and that our partners will increasingly use.
- Sit with those teams, understand how the work actually flows, and shape the product around it.
- Prepare the portal for a growing partner base, where polish and clarity become part of the commercial offer.
4. Design Direction
- Establish Helicap's design system — colour, typography, components, patterns — and bring a single visual language across all three surfaces. There is groundwork in place for you to build on.
- Work hands-on. You will take problems through to flows and high-fidelity screens yourself, using Figma and modern AI design tooling.
- Bring in freelance or agency designers for projects that need extra depth, and direct them to the standard you set.
- Shape interaction and information architecture as much as visuals — the most valuable improvements here are structural. Data-dense interfaces in particular reward real design thinking.
5. Product Direction and Delivery
- Write and own the roadmap, and build alignment around it with Sales, Operations, Compliance, Investments and Private Capital Solutions.
- Translate commercial and regulatory requirements into specifications a distributed engineering team can build from with confidence.
- Partner closely with a five-person engineering team, most of whom are based in India — clear writing and good async habits go a long way.
- Run discovery properly: talk to investors and internal users, prototype, test, and let evidence guide the call.
- See work through to a quality release — you will be close to validation and launch, not handing off at the spec.
Key Requirements:
- At least 5 years in product management, including at least one product or platform you owned end to end and can talk about in depth.
- Hands-on design ability. You are comfortable in Figma and fluent with AI design tooling, and can take a screen from a blank canvas to something you would be glad to ship.
- Strong instincts for flows and information architecture — you are the kind of product person who simplifies.
- Genuine comfort with data. You can interrogate a dataset, reason about a data model, and have a substantive conversation with data engineers — analytics is a first-class part of this product, not a side feature.
- A track record of bringing stakeholders along across a business, through clarity rather than authority.
- Excellent written communication — it is the primary interface with a distributed team.
Backgrounds That Fit Well
Two profiles suit this role particularly well, and we would be glad to hear from either:
- Designer turned PM — you came up through product design, moved into ownership, and kept your hands in the craft.
- Data or analytics PM — you have built analytics, BI or data-heavy platforms and developed real design judgement along the way.
Also very welcome: someone from a larger, mature product organisation ready for full ownership, or someone who has already built a product function from the ground up at a smaller company.
Nice to Have
- Financial services, fintech, wealth, capital markets or private credit experience — helpful, but we are happy to teach the domain to the right person.
- Experience building analytics, BI or data-heavy platforms for expert users.
- Experience building for institutional or accredited investors.
- Experience in a regulated environment, working alongside Compliance.
- Experience establishing a design system.
- Southeast Asia or emerging-market exposure.
Who Thrives Here
- People who enjoy building the function as well as the product, and who find a blank page energising rather than daunting.
- People who like being close to the work — strategy and execution sit together in this role, by design.
- People who are comfortable collaborating asynchronously with a distributed engineering team.
- People looking to go deep on craft and ownership now, rather than into people management.
