As Global Sustainability Program Manager, you will be an integral member of the Global Sustainability Carbon-free Group responsible for devising strategy and execution plan for APAC regions including Singapore, Malaysia and India to meet Micron’s Sustainability goals.
In this role you will need to work closely with Teams from Global EHS & Sustainability, Global Procurement, Corporate Finance, Site Facilities, Government and Public Affairs, Planning Central Team, as well as external industry agencies and consultants to fulfill the position and group responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:
- Establish a roadmap to advance Micron’s carbon-free electricity supply strategy to improve our Sustainability initiatives in alignment with our long-term plan.
- Assist with long-term financial analysis of projects for decision-making purposes.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key developers, regulators, and other collaborators for long-term, world-class benefits.
- Oversight of technical, market, and regulatory changes in U.S. and APAC CFE sectors incl. carbon-neutral fuel.
- Take an active role working with Procurement and Government & Public Affairs teams in regulatory processes. Influence the development of new carbon-free and balanced supply solutions offered by utilities and other suppliers.
- Develop executive reports, communications, and training materials regarding Micron's carbon-neutral electricity achievements and assist with both internal and external questions related to sustainability matters.
- Present strategy, progress, and challenges to key collaborators including management for mentorship.
- Experience using AI tools to improve project management, data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and collaborator communications.
- Ability to find opportunities for AI-based process improvements while balancing business, operational, and governance requirements.
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging AI technologies.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (10 to 20% at times).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Energy Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental sustainability, decarbonization initiatives, renewable energy, or environmental engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing, sourcing, negotiating, and managing utility-scale carbon-free energy projects, including solar, wind, hydroelectric, and energy storage solutions from project development through commercial operation.
- Proven experience leading and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, effectively coordinating with internal stakeholders, external partners, consultants, developers, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong expertise in evaluating and interpreting financial models for carbon-free electricity projects, including identification of key risks, sensitivities, and execution of technical, commercial, financial, and development due diligence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Asia-Pacific energy and sustainability landscape, including renewable energy procurement strategies, environmental sustainability reporting, and regional market dynamics.
- Strong understanding and practical application of sustainability frameworks and standards, including: RE100CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs), Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and related market instruments
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver executive-level reports, business cases, and presentation materials for senior leadership.
- Strong program and project management capabilities with exceptional attention to detail, organization, and execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to leverage AI-enabled tools for data analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electrical grid interconnection processes and renewable energy infrastructure development.
- Knowledge or experience in emerging carbon-free energy technologies, including: Nuclear energyGreen hydrogen Fuel cellsGreen ammoniaOther advanced clean energy solutions
- Experience supporting corporate sustainability goals, renewable energy procurement programs, and net-zero or carbon neutrality initiatives within multinational organizations.
- Experience negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Virtual PPAs (VPPAs), Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) transactions, or similar renewable energy contracting mechanisms.
