About the Role

We are looking for a Senior System Analyst to lead the functional and system analysis for harmonizing payments data across our enterprise data platforms. You will turn deep payments knowledge into implementable data requirements, mappings, reconciliation rules and acceptance criteria that support downstream analytics and financial crime use cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Payments, Product, Channel, Financial Crime and Enterprise Data stakeholders to establish common definitions for payment transactions, parties, accounts, postings and channel origins.
  • Analyze payment data across Payments, Products and Channels subject areas, including CASA, loan, card and deposit postings, and internet banking, mobile banking, ATM and branch events.
  • Define payment archetypes and classification rules: domestic and cross-border, single and bulk, real-time and batch, inward and outward, internal and FX.
  • Prepare functional specifications, source-to-target mappings, attribute definitions, data flows and business rules for the harmonized payments model across the EDW and related platforms.
  • Specify how records for the same payment are linked across payment instructions, product postings, channel events and settlement legs, including matching keys, tolerances, timing windows and handling of incomplete or late-arriving records.
  • Define treatment of returns, reversals, charges, partial transactions, bulk items, duplicates and unmatched records.
  • Specify reconciliation controls and exception reports covering matching status, variances, ownership, ageing and completeness of counterparty identification.
  • Work with data architects and engineers to validate designs, resolve source-data gaps and assess impacts on downstream reporting, interfaces and monitoring feeds.
  • Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria; support SIT, UAT, defect investigation, data reconciliation and business sign-off.
  • Maintain traceability from approved payment definitions and requirements through design, implementation and test evidence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of banking technology experience, with substantial System Analyst experience in payments and enterprise data delivery.
  • Strong functional payments knowledge, with the ability to explain the end-to-end lifecycle of payment instructions, clearing, settlement, account posting, returns, exceptions and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience analyzing payment transactions across multiple source systems and defining data mappings, business rules and functional specifications for EDW, data marts or analytics platforms.
  • Practical understanding of domestic and cross-border payment flows, payment identifiers, multi-leg transactions, correspondent and settlement flows, and the causes of unmatched or delayed records.
  • Strong SQL skills for data profiling, transaction tracing, mapping validation and reconciliation break investigation.
  • Experience working with business SMEs, architects, data engineers and testers in a regulated banking environment.
  • Clear documentation and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to challenge ambiguous payment definitions or incomplete source-data assumptions.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with SWIFT payment messages and ISO 20022 data structures.
  • Exposure to Teradata EDW, Cloudera, Iceberg/Trino, Informatica, Spark, Qlik Sense or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with payment data used in AML, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting or financial crime analytics.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
