Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of trade finance activities, covering letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, and standby letters of credit.
- Examine trade and shipping documents to verify accuracy and alignment with contractual and banking requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation and timely lodgement of trade finance applications, amendments, drawdowns, and supporting documentation.
- Detect documentation discrepancies and transaction risks, working with relevant parties to resolve issues promptly.
- Track trade facilities, utilisation, limits, maturity schedules, fees, financing costs, and related transaction records.
- Partner with relationship banks on transaction execution, facility documentation, pricing, and operational requirements.
- Maintain adherence to internal approval procedures, maker-checker controls, AML, sanctions, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to facilitate shipping, bunkering, and trading transactions.
- Provide visibility on upcoming payments, receipts, financing commitments, and available facilities to support cash flow planning.
- Mentor junior team members while contributing to enhancements in trade finance processes, controls, templates, and reporting practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant trade finance experience in the maritime industry.
- Strong working knowledge of letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, standby letters of credit, shipping documentation, and trade finance practices.
- Familiarity with trade finance controls, AML and sanctions requirements, banking relationships, facility management, and time-sensitive transaction documentation.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities independently, with strong communication, stakeholder coordination, Microsoft Office proficiency, and a high level of integrity and accountability.
