Our client is an established international trading company with a strong presence in the global energy markets. They are expanding its trading team in Singapore and is looking for an experienced Senior Trader to support its trading activities and business growth across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day trading activities across assigned energy products and markets.
- Identify and evaluate trading opportunities based on market developments, fundamentals and commercial considerations.
- Execute and manage physical and financial transactions in line with the company's trading strategies and risk parameters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and other market counterparties.
- Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand the company's trading activities.
- Negotiate commercial terms and execute spot and term transactions.
- Monitor market movements, pricing trends, supply and demand dynamics and other relevant developments.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective trade execution, contract management and transaction settlement.
- Prepare regular market updates, trading reports and analysis for management.
- Contribute to the development of trading strategies and business plans.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required.
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, International Trade or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in energy or commodities trading.
- Strong understanding of physical trading and/or related financial instruments.
- Good commercial awareness with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with international counterparties would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain business relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Self-motivated, commercially driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Strong team player with good stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
