Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with corporate, government and regulatory requirements relating to Safety, Health & Environment (SHE).
- Implement SHE programs to reduce safety incidents, environmental impact and promote a Zero Harm and sustainability culture.
- Manage and coordinate SHE programs, processes, activities, incidents and corrective actions, working closely with the Workplace Safety Officer and EHS Committee.
- Review and update safe work methods, legal requirements, hazard controls and SHE procedures.
- Manage licences, permits and certifications, including renewals, applications, status tracking and coordination of regulatory audits.
- Ensure site facilities and licences, including Petroleum and Flammable Material Storage Licences, remain valid and compliant.
- Monitor industrial hygiene programs, conduct hazard analysis of hazardous substances and evaluate control measures.
- Prepare and maintain SHE documentation for internal and external audits.
- Conduct monthly SHE meetings, audits and workplace inspections; identify risks, recommend corrective actions and follow up on improvements.
- Provide SHE guidance to employees, contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with corporate, industry and local regulations.
- Conduct safety and health campaigns, Gemba safety talks and training to strengthen the site's SHE culture.
- Advise engineering and maintenance teams on safe systems of work and improvement opportunities.
- Work with contractors, vendors and internal/external stakeholders to resolve safety, environmental and health issues.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep updated on regulatory and industry developments.
- Monitor and submit mandatory NEA packaging waste reporting / 3R Plans under the Waste & Resource Management System.
- Support initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption and carbon emissions, and improve environmental and technological performance.
Requirements
- Diploma or higher in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in process safety, hazard management, process design, technical support or operations, preferably within manufacturing, pharmaceutical or petrochemical industries.
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
- SCDF Fire Safety Manager certification.
- MOM-registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) is an advantage.
- Experience in Quality Assurance is an advantage.
