The posting

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Position Overview

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) within the Validation Strategy & Test Architecture organization, you will lead strategic initiatives that shape the future readiness of Micron's Data Center SSD portfolio. This role focuses on ecosystem readiness, technology adoption, platform enablement, architecture investigations, and long-range validation strategy.

You will work across architecture, firmware, systems, product, customer, and validation organizations to understand emerging technologies, industry trends, platform evolution, and customer deployment requirements. Your work will help ensure that Micron is prepared for future platform shifts, ecosystem changes, and next-generation Data Center SSD requirements before they become execution challenges.

The role also includes evaluating AI-assisted engineering capabilities, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies that improve technical decision-making, engineering productivity, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ecosystem readiness and technology adoption initiatives for next-generation Data Center SSD products.
  • Identify emerging platform, infrastructure, and technology trends that could impact future products, validation strategies, and customer deployments.
  • Drive cross-functional technical investigations spanning architecture, validation, systems, firmware, and customer requirements.
  • Develop readiness assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic recommendations that influence future roadmap decisions.
  • Analyze deployment models, lifecycle considerations, and ecosystem dependencies associated with future Data Center SSD solutions.
  • Identify validation gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve coverage and product readiness.
  • Lead proof-of-concept activities and pathfinding efforts that support future validation methodologies and architectural directions.
  • Evaluate AI-assisted engineering solutions, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and advanced analytics technologies that can improve engineering effectiveness and insight generation.
  • Collaborate across engineering organizations to align readiness strategies with customer requirements, technology roadmaps, and business priorities.
  • Present strategic recommendations and technical direction to engineering and executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Center SSDs, storage systems, validation, systems engineering, firmware, architecture, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of Data Center SSD architecture, storage ecosystems, server platforms, and customer deployment environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Strong technical communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction beyond immediate organizational boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise Data Center SSD deployments.
  • Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, FDP, OCP SSDs, AI infrastructure, storage ecosystems, and next-generation platform architectures.
  • Experience with technology strategy, ecosystem readiness, platform qualification, or architecture investigations.
  • Experience identifying and managing technical risks associated with emerging technologies and deployment models.
  • Experience applying data analytics, AI/ML, automation, or software engineering techniques to engineering workflows.
  • Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, AI-assisted engineering tools, or advanced analytics.
  • Experience developing strategic assessments, technical position papers, readiness reviews, or executive-level recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success influencing technical strategy at an organizational level.

About the Team

The Validation Strategy & Test Architecture team is responsible for defining the "what" and "why" of validation. The organization develops validation strategies, coverage architectures, ecosystem readiness assessments, technology evaluations, and future-ready validation solutions that can be adopted across Data Center SSD programs.

The team focuses on improving validation effectiveness, identifying emerging risks, evaluating new technologies, and enabling scalable validation practices across the broader engineering organization. A key focus area is understanding future platform evolution, customer deployment trends, ecosystem readiness requirements, and the application of AI-assisted engineering capabilities to support next-generation Data Center SSD products.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
